Look Up From Your Phone, Shut Down That Display

By Thursday, May 08, 2014 ,

I saw this video just now, and felt like I just had to share it. Everything they said is sad, but unfortunately true.

There's a place and time for social media and the internet (i.e. work, research, etc.). We really cannot disconnect from the internet especially if we use it to keep in touch with friends and family members who live in other countries. But when you're physically with your friends and loved ones, put down your phones or tablets and be really there with them. It's time we all learned again how to live our lives the right way. :)

Here are some of the lines from this video that I really loved:

"We're a generation of idiots.
Smart phones and dumb people.

So look up from your phone, shut down that display.
Take in your surroundings, make the most of today.
Just one real connection is all it can take
To show you the difference that being there can make.

So look up from your phone, shut down those displays.
We have a finite existence, a set number of days.
Don't waste your life, get caught in the net
'Coz when the end comes, nothing's worse than regret.

Give people your love, don't give them your 'like'.

Look up from your phone, shut down that display.
Stop watching this video, live life the real way."
