Canon celebrates the Filipinos' discerning eye for art by holding the national leg of the Canon PhotoMarathon 2014 - now on its 9th year! The competition will be held this coming November 8, 2014 at the Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City and will start as early as 8am.

This much-anticipated photo marathon is an on-the-spot photography competition that challenges participants to take creative photos while following a theme under time pressure. BGC will certainly be filled with photography enthusiasts, all in the hopes of taking the winning photograph!

The university leg of the competition was recently held in De La Salle University last October 18, and here are some of the winning photos:

Agatha Meg Albano - Grand Prize Winner, Point & Shoot Category

Raymond Paredes - Grand Prize Winner, Digital Cameras w/ Interchangeable Lenses Category

"We are looking forward to unleashing the potential of our participants. Whether hobbyists or professionals, we are highly encouraging more people to join and challenge themselves and realize how far their creativity can take them," said Bong Serevo, Vice President of Canon Marketing Philippines.

It's surely going to be a rewarding experience, and even the previous winners encourage everyone to join, especially those who feel like they have the potential to win.

The entries will be judged by Canon Crusaders of Light, and this is just how rewarding the competition's going to be:

The Grand Prize Winner for the Point and Shoot Category will get the following:
- Canon EOS 700D
- Dual arm foto crane from Steady Tracker
- Black Rapid camera strap
- Transcend 32GB wifi SD Card
- 1 International Round-Trip ticket from Cebu Pacific

The Grand Prize Winner for the Cameras with Interchangeable Lens Category will get the following:
- Dual arm foto crane from Steady Tracker
- Black Rapid camera strap
- Transcend 1TB wifi SD Card
- 1 International Round-Trip ticket from Cebu Pacific
- AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE: The winner will also be the first proud owner of a Canon EOS 7D Mark II in the Philippines

Aren't the prizes awesome?! I personally think it's great that they have a Point and Shoot Category. If I didn't have a previous engagement, I'd surely join in on the fun, even just for the experience.

Canon will also be holding a special sale in Bonifacio High Street from November 7 to 9. Customers can get special deals from Canon like: Sodexho GCs worth P3,000, a free photo book, and other exciting prizes on select Canon products.
