Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

Also known as the Burgos Lighthouse, Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It was first lit in March 30 of 1892 which means it's turning 122 years old in about a week. Awesome!

According to Wikipedia, "The light marks the northwestern-most point in Luzon. The northeastern-most being Cape Engaño Lighthouse on Palaui IslandSanta Ana,Cagayan.". Too bad we didn't get to get a glimpse of the one in Cagayan. That would've been double awesome. Haha!

There are some stories about ghosts roaming around the lighthouse, but we arrived in the afternoon, with a bunch of other tourists. I can't emphasize enough how happy I was when we got there with plenty of daylight left. LOL! Even the winding road leading to the parking area outside the lighthouse was creepy.

So anyway, here are some of the shots that we were able to take.

See any ghosts yet? Hehehe! So as you can see, the place is a bit creepy even in broad daylight. Can you just imagine what it must be like to be stranded there after dark? I can't even.

The staircase to the top of the lighthouse is off limits. Which is for the better, in my opinion. Haha! Still, the view up there's probably stunning.

The lighthouse has plenty of nooks and crannies, but almost all of the rooms are closed off to the public. Which is, again, perfectly fine. Haha!

Even if we couldn't climb to the top of the lighthouse, we did find a spot with a spectacular view. There's something about the vastness of the ocean that just leaves me in awe. Very nice, right?
